Leave it to Me

Okay, so last week I completed this swiped meme and I like the idea so much I am going to complete another swiped meme for today! Again, please feel free to take it from me!

Who was your FIRST date?
My first "official" date was . . . I was not, I repeat, NOT allowed to date until I turned 16, so right on my 16th birthday I went out on a date with this boy from a bordering rural town who was on one of the swimming teams that I competed against. We went out to dinner and it was so awkward. I can still see the image of myself sitting in this restaurant, nervous as ever and miserable because I didn't really like him. But, I just wanted to have a date. I can't recall his name. Obviously we never went out again.

Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
Now this one I wonder should it be kiddie love or like the first real I'm going to die without this person love?? I will pick my high school boyfriend. And that would be no. Unfortunately (this is such a sad story) a few years ago, he was murdered by his father (see, I told you it was horrible). I was devastated to hear this as it happened while I was living abroad and I couldn't even return for the funeral.

What was your FIRST alcoholic drink?
That would be my first communion. Paul Mason wine. A couple of years after that a friend of mine and myself each stole a small liquor bottle from out parents house and drank them. I can't remember the name of what it was that I stole, but it was purple and I know I never drank it again!

What was your FIRST job?
I started babysitting at age 14, but I don't really count that as a job. When I was 16 I started an actual job with an actual paycheck at a local accounting firm. I LOVED it from the beginning and I worked there for one year and then part time for the next two year during tax season. I still keep in touch with my old employers. They are wonderful, kind people! I think my love of numbers really took hold there . . . I did go on to graduate with a degree in Finance and I was a Sr Financial Analyst before I became a full time momma.

What was your FIRST car?
My first truck, well SUV really, was this old beat to hell bright blue Dodge Ram Charger. My dad got a fantastic deal on it because a huge tree had fallen on it and the entire roof was caved in. Well, he and some buddies just banged it out and I rolled with that gas guzzler for two years! The first car I ever paid for myself was a Pontiac Grand Am and it was the biggest piece of crap I have ever spent money on!

Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
Chicago, baby!

Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk?
She was my neighbor who lived up the street from me. We sort of parted ways in high school and she ended up moving away. But, we have recently reconnected on facebook and it is lovely to be in touch with her again.

Whose wedding did you attend the FIRST time?
My (older) brother's best friend and I was a server or something like that?

Tell us about your FIRST roommate.
My first apartment I lived with a friend and her boyfriend. I never realized what a nut-job she was until I lived with her. We never spoke again! She would steal my food (I later found out she was bulimic), she would wear all my clothes and hang them back up dirty from her binging. She never paid her portion of the rent. She never went to work and she lied to her boyfriend all the time. Oh, and she cheated on him all the time. Once I went on a date and she called the police because she thought I was missing! Nut Job!

If you had one wish, what would it be (other than more wishes)?
That my children never experience anything horrific. (ie: kidnapping, rape, murder, robbery etc)

What is something you would learn if you had the chance?
Piano or Violin

Did you marry the FIRST person you were in love with?
No, I did not.

What were the first lessons you ever took and why?
I would have to say stupid clarinet lessons and my parents made me. I did not want to play the clarinet, I wanted to play the flute. I quit and my parents didn't find out for two years!

What is the first thing you do when you get home?
Deactivate the alarm . . . take my shoes off (I don't like shoes in my house), set my purse down.
