Spirit Riding Free Season 3 on Netflix #SpiritRidingFree

For as long as I can recall, my daughters have loved horses. I introduced them to the original movie, Spirit, so many years ago and it is still one of their favorites. I remember watching this movie once a day with my daughters when they were quite young. So, I have a great fondness for this horse as well.

I had a pony when I was a child that we kept at my grandmother's farm. However, my aunt would never let us ride him because it was just too much work for her to saddle him up and "watch us" as we were never allowed in the fields by ourselves with a horse. So, I would brush this poor pony until he shone and give him every treat I could find. I hugged him and talked to him, but rarely ever rode him because my aunt was such a grouch. ☺

Once my daughters were old enough, I scheduled them for horse riding lessons. They loved the lessons, the horses and every thing about barns . . . just like I did when I was a child. My daughters took horse riding lessons for years and years until recently when we had to give them up do to jammed packed schedules.

Through all these years, my daughters love of all things horses has grown. They have collected horse books, horse stickers, horse statues and stuffed horses. They have a huge collection of Breyer horses that they still to this day play with. I have created horse tails for them and really just fostered their love of horses as much as I can.

Earlier this year, Netflix came out with an Original Series, Spirit Riding Free, and I let my daughters know that Spirit lives on. At first, my oldest daughter was so angry about this series and boycotted watching. It was quite hilarious! She would drone on and on that it wasn't fair, that Spirit didn't like to be corralled or owned and that Spirit had to be living in the wild to be happy. She simply refused to believe that Spirit would ever want anything but to be free, with his herd.

I had to have some discussions with her that perhaps Spirit's offspring was lonely and needed some company and to just give Spirit Riding Free a chance. I reminded her how much her own horses loved seeing her at horse riding lessons and how excited they would get when we came to visit. She was a tough once to convince, let me tell you. She has her heart set on Spirit living free and wild and can not be ridden!

Season 3 of Spirit Riding Free, the hit Netflix Original Series from DreamWorks Animation Television, premiered on November 17th.

Now, I was finally able to convince my oldest daughter to thoroughly watch Spirit Riding Free and she and my youngest daughter plowed through Season 1 and Season 2. They both realized that the main character, Fortuna Prescott  AKA: Lucky, only has Spirit's best interests at heart. They now are rooting for Lucky and Spirit and can't wait to see what Season 3 will bring. But, my oldest daughter stands firm in her belief, that even though Spirit in Spirit Riding Free seems happy, he can't truly be happy unless he is free. I'm letting this one go! After all, the theme is "Run Wild, Live Free".

Season 3 of Spirit Riding Free begins with Spirit and Lucky desperately trying to find one another and finally reunited in Miradero. Once together, the PALs and their horses set out on all-new thrilling adventures - racing to stop an oncoming train, helping a horse deliver her foal, trying to stay one step ahead of pesky Snips and cousin Julian or embarking on daring rescue missions. Amidst all the excitement, the PALs explore environs beyond Miradero, making wonderful new friends and meeting some new horses from Spirit’s herd. Watch the PALs for an action-packed journey that above all celebrates the unbreakable bond between Lucky and Spirit.

Right now, there are also NEW Breyer horses available, that any little girl, who happens to adore all things horses, would love for a holiday gift! Breyer Horses is offering the Spirit Riding Free Collection that was inspired by Spirit Riding Free. This new set of horses will enchant and inspire the next generation of fans in the original series that airs exclusively on Netflix. There are so many different sets available in this collection.

My daughters have the original Breyer Spirit horse and it is much loved. Some of the paint is worn off and thankfully, they have never broken a leg or hoof off. Breyer re-released Spirit this year in time for the debut of Season 3 of Spirit Riding Free; as well as some other amazing Spirit Riding Free toys. The new model has some slight differences, but mostly, for my daughters, the paint is not worn off. I would say Spirit is still gorgeous and very detailed, although it seems to be made out of different material. Perhaps a bit more durable, as some of the older Breyer models are quite fragile. My daughters were really excited to add the new Spirit to their Breyer horse collection. I can honestly say that my daughters have so many Breyer horses, I can't keep them straight. But, they can and that is what matters most!
