Each Valentine’s Day I create a Dessert Charcuterie Board for my family — the reason I do this is because we do not buy our children any gifts or candy for Valentine’s Day. We just celebrated the holidays and there really is no reasonable reason to buy more “stuff” for my kids. So - I started making holiday-themed treats for my kids and putting them on a board - WAY BEFORE Dessert Charcuterie Board became a “thing”. We have a family movie night and eat all the sweet treats!

This Valentine’s Day Dessert Charcuterie Board is literally a cutting board — covered with all the themed Valentine’s Day desserts I made with my daughters and some sweet treats I purchased at the local grocer. Think a canape plate - covered with savory snacks and veggies that you always have at your mom’s house — but replace it with holiday-themed treats! They are SO SIMPLE to create!!

This dessert charcuterie board is super simple and you can either create your own sweets and treats or head to the grocery store. These days, it is nearly impossible TO NOT find holiday-themed sweets and treats - for every single holiday - available to purchase. BUT, here is my tip - when you see them - BUY them! Because these holiday-themed snacks and treats go fast!

Select all the things your family enjoys and keep adding them to the cutting board (or large platter or plat). It is literally THAT easy!! Fill in all the spots until the board or platter is fully loaded. You can add cookies, krispie treats, chocolate, pretzels, marshmallows, fresh fruits, and nuts too! Really - ANYTHING goes when putting together a Sweet Treat Board.

My daughters and I made all the pretzels and dipped them in holiday-colored chocolates and then dipped them all in fun holiday-themed sprinkles!

HOW DO YOU ARRANGE A DESSERT BOARD?

The key to the best dessert charcuterie board is variety and ensure everything is visually appealing! Be sure to select or make sweets and treats in different colors, and textures. And if you don't have a large cutting board? No need to fret or worry!. This dessert board can be assembled on a cookie sheet or large platter or serving dish. I have even used a medium-sized mirror that was hanging on the wall because I needed something bigger! (I cleaned it first!). If you don’t have large platters - use small ones too!!I
