America

We as Americans proudly display our country's flag as we celebrate our common heritage of freedom and democracy on the Fourth of July.

Every July Fourth we all rise early to raise our flag, watch a parade and gather at a picnic at a dear friend's house. We attend a festival and have a celebration at our house. Of course, fireworks lighting the sky end the weekend celebrations. We are busy the entire weekend every single year for the Fourth of July. I would have it no other way. We are celebrating our nation and I want my children to remember these words "that America is an independent nation that still sees itself...as a place devoted to democracy and to the proposition that all people are created equal" all their days.

I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival....It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other from this time forward forevermore.
