How Much Am I Worth?

 How much am I worth? Before I had children, I could tell you exactly what I was worth based on my yearly salary. Today, as a stay at home mom, I can't do that, because I am not compensated in dollars (per say). I think everyone will agree that a stay at home mom's jobs are more than full-time. We do not work the normal 40 hours work week, we work loads of overtime! Therefore, increasing our value and worth. If you were to do an analysis of the job duties that you perform and then compare the pay levels to these typical positions in your area, you could calculate your market value. I am worth a whopping $124K a year to my family!

Here are 13 of my motherly duties on a pay scale.

( The Housekeeper is responsible to the residents for insuring that they provide a clean and sanitary environment in all areas of The Home. Moderate to heavy physical conditions. Involves heavy lifting and carrying of over 50 lbs. On feet most of the time. Involves walking, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and handling. Overhead and circular repetitive motion. Some exposure to uncomfortable temperatures or odors)

2)Day Care Center Teacher $13.59
(Plans, prepares, and carries out activities and projects for groups of elementary school-age children enrolled in a before and after-school program. Provides leadership and ensures the safety of the children enrolled in the center.)

3)Cook/Nutritionist $13.79/$23.16
(Cooking plates to order. Cooking foods to safety temperatures. Prepping dished to be completed. Detail cleaning the area in which you are working. Communicating with other cooks, managers as well as servers. Preparing food in a timely manner./Provides individual client nutrition and diet counseling and develops and implements a nutrition care plan for such clients as required.)

4)Computer Operator $15.87
(Monitor and control electronic computer. May enter commands at a computer terminal and set controls on computer. Monitor and respond to operating and error messages.)

5)Laundry Machine Operator $10.20
(Tends washing machine and dryer to clean and dry laundry. Finishes laundered articles, using hand iron. Sorts laundry. May perform related tasks, such as mending torn articles, using sewing machine or by affixing adhesive patches.)

6)Janitor $10.46
(Performs floor maintenance. Gathers and deposes of trash. Sweep balcony/patio. Remove cobwebs. Performs other tasks as assigned.)

7)Staff Nurse /RN $28.48
(Facilitate a medically sound and safe environment for children. Be prepared to triage and treat children, and hubbies who present to The Home with illness or injury. Administration of medications. Administration of first aid care. Be prepared to provide emergency medical care.)

8)Van Driver $16.39
(Drives automobile to transport personnel. Performs miscellaneous errands, such as carrying mail to and from post office. May make overnight drives and extended trips requiring irregular hours. May clean vehicle and make minor repairs or adjustments)

9) Psychologist $37.16
(Conduct intellectual and educational assessments on children. The position involves the provision of psychological therapy services to clients with a range of psychological disorders.)

10)Administrative Assistant $17.18
(Provides a full range of administrative, clerical and office support.
Provides clerical/administrative support, including the composition and preparation of
routine correspondence and presentations using computer software applications. Prepares and maintains telephone directory and other company information. Provide filing assistance.
Performs photocopying and other production services.Keep current calendars. Inform family members of upcoming events and changes in the calendar. Keep office supplies adequately stocked. Purchase stamps and postal supplies. Other duties as assigned.)

11)Event Planner $25.92
(Responsible for all aspects of planning a meeting or special event. Responsible for all amenities and accommodations at the event. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.)

12)Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable Clerk $16.97
(Keeps records of financial transactions. Reconciles and balances accounts. Prepares and processes all accounts payable for The Home. Responsible for the prompt payment of bills and the maintenance of accurate and timely records of expenditures within the budget.)

13)GroundsKeeper/General Maintenance Worker $14.63
(Perform routine grounds maintenance work or laboring work such as collecting trash and weed abatement. Perform minor repair work on sprinklers and other special projects. Responsible for all general maintenance and repair of minor problems throughout The Home. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger coordination, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.)

Chief Executive Officer $69.97
(Since she is the highest-ranking person in The Home, a Chief Executive Officer job description includes overall strategy, top-level decision making and oversight of activities. While it is not typically said in so many words in a Chief Executive Officer job description, it is a high-stress job requiring quick, decisive choices on a multitude of subjects.
